**2016 Update** 2016 Growing New Farmers Apprentice Program
Hands-on training with curriculum based course work and pairings with mentor farmers on a working farm + field trips, farm tours, growers group meetings and networking opportunities. No experience is required and limited financial aid and payment plans are available. This year's program runs from May 16 - November 12 and allows participants to earn a Certificate in Sustainable Agriculture and optional apprenticeship with a local farmer or food system leader. Applications are due March 14. The program is an initiative of a Mavenjoy Best Practice Pick: Lowcountry Local First.
Organic Growers School Providing educational opportunities and resources for both current and future generation farmers in Southern Appalachia, including Apprentice Link a searchable site for both existing farmers and future apprentices as well as free one-on-one farm labor consulting.
Beginning Farmer and Rancher Opportunities
A Center for Rural Affairs program providing resources for people interested in entering the farming profession, including how to obtain land, financing, and skills for a successful start-up as well as linking retiring farmers and ranchers with beginner farmers.
Harvesting Our Potential
An apprenticeship program of the Women, Food and Agriculture Network provides hands-on experience for women. Positions include a stipend, room and board.
Jewish Farm School A sustainable agriculture program rooted in Jewish traditions offering a variety of staff, intern and volunteer positions. Farmer Veteran Coalition
Matching returning veterans with employment on family farms and in the sustainable farming movement in order to support successful operations for those returning to farming as well as to introduce others to farming as a new vocation.

Another farm jobs program dedicated to veterans offering workshops, farm tours, individualized consultations and a helpline.
Blue Ridge Craft Multiple listings of intern/apprenticeships for individuals interested in learning more about sustainable agriculture. Most are located on farms primarily in and around North Carolina.
